Viva Las Vegas

Last weekend, duv and I went to Las Vegas to meet up with some of her family, and had a great time! I just finished posting the pictures we took, and wanted to point out a few of them. (continued)

Air Motor-licious

I recently completed the project for ME12S, the Machining class I’ve been taking: an Air Motor (photos of mine). The class has really rekindled my love for making things with my hands, and I’m racking my brain for more fun things I could find an excuse to build. (continued)

The Best Photo You’ve Ever Snapped

Believe it or not, even though I have the insta-zoom, five years old, cheapo digital camera; I actually really enjoy photography as an art form and once took a dark room class. My favorite photograph which I actually took myself was a floral shot of some bromeliads at the Denver Botanical Garden, and which I still use as a computer desktop background to this day (read on to see the photo).
Ever have a photo you’ve taken that you’re proud of? Share! (continued)

Oblivious pets?

Alright, so this might be stretching it for a post, but it will have some cute pictures of, and a short story about, my parents’ oblivious dog, Willie the sheltie, and the local neighborhood fox. Any one else have cute pet pictures or interesting pet stories? (continued)

Halloween 06 Photo Gallery

Halloween came early this year, since all the happenin’ (and not so happening) parties wanted to strut their stuff on the weekend… Needless to say, we have some “fun fotos” of our pumpkins, our costumes, and all the crazy costumes at the party we attended. Read on for a captioned selection of the photos. (continued)

“How to be a Good Wife”… in 1955.

This clipping from Housekeeping Monthly in 1955 is tragic, and speaks so much of how our culture has changed in 50 years– and how much could still improve.

Apartment Update

Yup, more apartment photos– hey, moving is a big thing! We’ve now got some shots up from the “During” process… that is, our half moved-in current status. The furniture is all in the right locations, but the vast sea of books and knick-knacks still has to be waded through. Fun!

Moving Time

So, it looks like Teisha and I might be moving soon… really soon! Though its price tag is a little high, we’ve fallen in love with a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment down the street from us. Update: Photo Gallery Time! (continued)

Who needs flickr?

California 027
Edit: I revised my photo Gallery to integrate with the site better, and I’ll be making commeting easier as well. Take that, external service with additional fees!

Alright, I bit the bullet and swallowed some of the “Web 2.0″ kool-aid, so now I have a Flickr Photo Page. Much as I like hosting all my own photos, it is kind of cool to be able to tag and share photos so easily. Give it a look-see, and if you get a Flickr account (or have one already), tell me!

Pillow Fight in NYC

Since Fleepster doesn’t show up very often I thought I’d post this. When I was in New York visiting there was a huge pillow fight in the middle of Union Square, which we took part in. To see some of the insanity there’s pictures and video here.

Free Rice

Okay, I’ll admit that it’s entirely possible that I am the last person to learn about this website*, but it’s really addictive.  It’s a game that tests your vocabulary.  Each time you get a word’s meaning correct, 20 grains of rice are donated to the UN World Program.  So, give Free Rice a whirl.  I bet you’ll have fun and you’ll get to help make strides toward ending hunger.

*I heard about it forever ago, I just never actually looked at it.

Security Cam Music Video

This band decided they didn’t have money to make a video, so they set up in public places in view of security cameras, then asked to get the footage from the people.

Pretty cool results, though a little creepy to think how much these cameras are around.

A news story about it is here

Some Frogs and Toads are just weird…

Thanks to one of my favorites blogs, Zooillogix, I recently got to see toads giving live birth from their back and frogs without lungs. (continued)
