Did you know that some psychologists have started diagnosing a condition often referred to as “information addiction” or “Internet addiction” as a psychological disorder? I don’t think I’m there (no 40 hour long marathon online gaming sessions for me, thank you), but I DO read a lot online. Especially my two favorite news sites, SlashDot and Digg. (continued)

This clipping from Housekeeping Monthly in 1955 is tragic, and speaks so much of how our culture has changed in 50 years– and how much could still improve.
Four to Six Hour Workdays… the key to happiness?
That’s what this article claims, in any case. I tend to agree, being the meditative and leisurely guy that I am. What I found most interesting, though, was the throwaway line about the economist Keynes. Apparantly, he recommended shorter workdays as well… I may need to track this down.
No real story here, other than a mildly interesting article and my obsessive-compulsive nature.
