Just wanted to share that my first first-author paper is now online! In the journal Stem Cells and Development, here’s my paper on “Roles of Integrins in Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Growth on Matrigel and Vitronectin.”
Just in case PD actually let someone forget
Hope you have a great day!!!
Thought it’s a bit late, I wanted to share how we celebrated Andrew’s birthday — the Andrew Birthday Extravaganza! Some friends (Ted, Christina, and Vernon) and us drove down to L.A. for amazing dim sum for breakfast/lunch, followed by much minigolfing, then some relaxing hot tubbing at Ted’s parents’ place, followed by some Ethiopian for dinner (I’d never had it before and it was quite the tasty experience). Enough said — here are the pictures (mostly of people rolling out after being stuffed with dim sum, and then clearly one of the minigolf courses we tried). Hope you enjoy living vicariously through the picts

Meg - August 18th, 2007 at 3:27 pmWhen do we start the countdown?
Awwwww… thank you so much for remembering (and posting about it!). I’m sorry I missed yours– what fun stuff did you do???
Tomorrow I’m having a board games extravaganza, followed by eating lunch at my favorite Dim Sum restaurant on Saturday.
Of course I remembered! Expect a loud, off-key and out-of-tune email rendition of happy birthday tomorrow
Sounds like you’ve got fun plans in store tomorrow!
I got a new kitten on my birthday. Whoops.

Just read a fascinating (if lengthy) essay on disruptive technology and the future of scientific publishing. Well worth the read!
Just wanted to share Mint.com’s Visual Guide to Deflation, which is quite explanatory.
Hey all Paradoxdruid readers! I recently started up a blog on stem cells that I’d love you all to take a look at: http://www.allthingsstemcell.com/
I participated in another Barely literate book review podcast, this time on Nicholson Baker’s “The Fermata”. Give it a listen!

Okay, I’ll admit that it’s entirely possible that I am the last person to learn about this website*, but it’s really addictive.
It’s a game that tests your vocabulary. Each time you get a word’s meaning correct, 20 grains of rice are donated to the UN World Program. So, give Free Rice a whirl. I bet you’ll have fun and you’ll get to help make strides toward ending hunger.
*I heard about it forever ago, I just never actually looked at it.
