So, we got up bright and early this morning, set out, and arrived at the Oxnard Best Buy about 8:30AM to find a very long line of people with the same idea as we… Several at the front even looked as though they’d been camping out for some time. Counting the line as we walked to the back, we found there were about 112 people in front of us, but we still had hope as this number contained children in families, and perhaps some couples. At about 9AM, a manager came out and began giving tickets to people, starting at the front, so they could come back when they opened (at 10AM) and get their Wii with their ticket. The 102nd, and last, ticket was handed out about 10 or 15 people in front of us… guess they were all getting a Wii, or maybe even multiple ones. We spent the remainder of the morning going to a few other electronics places around that shopping center, then driving the nearly hour drive back home and looking at a few places there… Specifically, we went to our local CostCo at about 9:45AM and saw a short line (they open at 10) and joined in only to find people had been issued tickets an hour previously when there was a much longer line, as they came back around 10 to get their “reserved” Wii systems.

So, for the time being, we are Wii-less. We’re hoping stores will get another shipment in soon, but we’ll survive until then… Andrew was mostly hoping to get one to take home and show off to the families over Thanksgiving. Guess it’ll have to wait until Christmas break. If nothing else, it was a bit of an adventure and a little story to tell…
